Mark Jordon will reportedly not be suspended from Emmerdale as he faces charges of GBH and common assault. The actor, who plays Daz Spencer in the soap, was arrested in June following an altercation with a 67-year-old man.
Next month, Mark will appear in court before magistrates. Confirming the charges, a spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police told Metro.co.uk: A man has been charged in connection with an assault in Oldham. Mark Jordon has been charged with GBH and section 39 common assault. He will appear at Tameside Magistrates Court on 8th November 2018.
Shortly before 9.30pm on Sunday 1st July 2018, police were called to reports of an assault in Oldham. A 67-year-old man was taken to hospital with facial injuries.
While Mark faces his legal battle, it was so far unknown whether ITV would be taking action but a source has claimed to The Sun: Producers have spent a lot of time weighing up what to do about the situation. He has been waiting a while for them to make a decision, but they finally told him this week he can continue to appear on screen.
They understand its a very serious situation but they dont think suspending him will help anything — especially while legal matters are still ongoing.
Emmerdale have so far not made any official comment on the situation. Metro.co.uk have approached them for any update and are awaiting a response.
On screen, Daz is at the centre of a brewing storyline which is seeing his partner Bernice Blackstock have an affair with Dr Cavanagh behind his back.
Mark is currently dating his co-star Laura Norton, who plays Kerry Wyatt in the show.
