Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) hasnt had the easiest time of it since his return to Albert Square last month.

Hes clearly been struggling to adapt to life back in Walford since he was released from prison, and his return hasnt been without drama either.

Despite being confronted by Max (Jake Wood), he later offered him an olive branch when he unexpectedly became the centre of attention in the Queen Vic – but the gesture was too much for the teenager, who fled.

His behaviour has certainly left his family concerned – but just what is going on?

Bobby Beale will be seen in Thursday nights edition of the soap meeting up with a mysterious friend who he has texted.

The friend turns out to be someone who was with him in the youth offenders unit – and their meeting does seem to lift his spirits a little as he suggests Bobby should consider home tutoring.

When did Bobby Beale return to EastEnders?

Bobby returned to EastEnders in mid-June, following his prison sentence for killing his sister Lucy (Hetti Bywater) and brutally attacking Jane (Laurie Brett) with a hockey stick.

He arrived during Kathys launch night party for her new gay bar the Prince Albert – and quickly ran into trouble when Max Branning realised he was back in town.

With Max having been wrongly convicted of Lucys murder, and spending time behind bars for the crime, hes far from Bobbys biggest fan.

But viewers were left surprised a couple of weeks back when Max stuck up for Bobby in the Queen Vic – saying that he had paid the price for his crime and was now trying to rebuild his life.

He then offered to buy drinks for the Beales – but it all became too much for Bobby who fled and locked himself in his bedroom, telling Ian and Kathy to leave him alone as they tried to coax him out.
