Long-running film director Woody Allen has started filming for his next rom-com movie in San Sebastian yesterday and Gina Gershon and Christoph Waltz are the stars of the show.

With a working title of Rifkins Festival, the movie is based around the San Sebastian Film Festival, hence the need to shoot in the Spanish city.

As well as superstars Gershon and Waltz confirmed as the protagonists, Elena Anaya, Sergi Lopez and Wallace Shawn will act in the new film.

A total romantic comedy, Allens upcoming movie will see a husband and wife travel to the city for the festival and both fall in love with other people while theyre there.

The wife will have an affair with a French director, played by Louis Garrel, while the husband will fall for a local Spanish lady, played by Anaya.

The movie is going ahead despite Allens latest project, A Rainy Day in New York, being shelved by Amazon because of an allegation made against him by his daughter.

Allens career has been shrouded in controversy for 25 years, since the moment his daughter Dylan Farrow accused him of sexually abusing her when she was a child, which the film director has completely denied.

When asked about the difficulties he has faced professionally because of this allegation at a press conference on Tuesday 9 July, Allen simply said he will never give up his work.

The 83-year-old says he has no plans to retire, according to Screen Daily.

At the press conference, he said: No matter what happens in my life with my wife, children, current events, politics or illness, thats all that really absorbs my time and effort seven days a week.

So I dont think of retiring.

Ill probably die in the midst of setting a film shot one day on the set, making a movie.
