Coronation Street fans have discovered that Gemma Winter’s new found happiness with boyfriend Henry Newton is too good to be true – as he is just dating her as a bet with one of his cruel mates. And smugly, he thinks he is quids in as he continues to woo Gemma by telling her that he is falling in love with her.

Henry and Gemma met at one of his parties and he came in search of her when she left her shoe behind. Not used to finding happiness or genuine romance, Gemma was unsure for some time that it was really happening to her when she appeared to find herself in a fun, loving and strong relationship.

However, as things have developed, she has let her guard down and found herself swept off her feet, with rich Henry turning up the charm. But it’s all a cruel trick at Gemma’s expense as a phone call to his friend tonight revealed that he made a bet that he could make Gemma fall for him.

How far he is prepared to lead poor Gemma on remains to be seen but Gemma almost called time on the relationship tonight after a disagreement. Instead of calling it quits so she wasn’t hurt further, Henry went to lengths to win her back, publicly asking people in the Rovers if they looked good together before declaring his love.

As Gemma allowed him back into her life, he made cruel jibes about her being ‘cheeky’ to try and finish with him to her friend – all while smiling and waving at his oblivious victim.

Will Gemma learn the truth – and how will she react when she discovers Henry’s nasty game? You deserve better, Gem!
