Darkest Hour release date UK, cast and trailer as Gary Oldman stars as Winston Churchill


The awards are already being dished out for new Winston Churchill biopic Darkest Hour, and the film has not even been released in the UK yet.
Gary Oldman’s incredible portrayal of the former British prime minister has already won him a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama) and there will likely be many more gongs to come.

Oldman’s transformation into the war-time leader has certainly eye-catching and audiences are desperate to see the veteran actor in action as the world famous politician.

When is Darkest Hour released in the UK?
The movie comes out in the UK on Friday, January 12.
It has already been released in America (Dec 22, 2017) and in a number of other countries, including France and China.

Who is in the cast?
Gary Oldman is taking all the headlines for his role as Churchill, but there are a number of other great actors on display as well.
Kristin Scott Thomas stars as Clemmie, whilst Lily James is in action as Elizabeth Layton and Game of Thrones’ Stephen Dillane plays Viscount Halifax.
Ben Mendelsohn plays King George VI and there are also parts for Ronald Pickup, Samuel West and David Strathairn, among others.
